Subsequent filings for trade mark and design applications now possible without signature

With the new update of DPMAdirektWeb you can easily submit documents for ongoing trade mark and design procedures without an electronic signature.

Simply reply electronically or submit additional documents

With the new function “Subsequent filing of a trade mark or design application” you can, for example

  • simply reply electronically to a communication or a communication from the DPMA,
  • submit additional documents electronically,
  • submit new (design) representations electronically,
  • supplement application data or even

request a priority certificate electronically.

To ensure that the subsequent filing actually comes from the right person, you only need to enter the file number of the application and the document reference number (DRN). The DRN is confidential and can be found on the acknowledgement of receipt or confirmation of filing, which is downloaded when filing via DPMAdirektWeb. An electronic signature card is no longer required.

Application service becomes more practical and user-friendly

Since its launch in November 2013, DPMAdirektWeb has continued to develop and grow in popularity. So far, more than 426,000 trade mark applications and 39,000 design applications have been filed via the service. Originally launched as a simple alternative to the signature-based DPMAdirektPro software, DPMAdirektWeb has been continuously improved. Suggestions and feedback from users were incorporated into the further development.

With the new function for signature-free subsequent submissions, the DPMA is fulfilling a frequently expressed customer request and making the application service even more practical and user-friendly.
